Privacy Policy

The short version

LINK UP! helps friends in different time zones find the best time to meet. We only look at when you're busy or free — never what your events are. Your calendar event names, notes and details never leave your account.

What we collect

• Your profile: your name, your time zone, your working hours, what you say you're working on, and your current status colour (green "always available", yellow "maybe?", red "leave me alone!").
• Your picture: a photo you take with your webcam or upload yourself, if you choose to add one. It's stored in private storage, and only people connected to you can view it.
• Busy times: times you mark yourself as busy, or busy/free slots read automatically from your Google Calendar if you connect it.
• Account info: your name and email address, when you sign in with Google or with email.
• Meeting rooms: the title, meeting length and date range a room's organizer sets, plus who was invited.

What we never see

When you connect Google Calendar, we request read-only access used only to ask "when is this person busy?". We never read event titles, descriptions, guests, locations or any other event details. We keep no copy of your events — only busy/free time blocks needed to suggest meeting times.

The secret that links your calendar to your account is stored encrypted, and you can disconnect your calendar at any time from the map page.

Who can see what

• Friends you connect with (by exchanging invite links) can see your name, time zone, status colour, what you're working on, your picture if you added one, and when you're busy or free.
• Meeting rooms are visible only to the organizer and the people invited to that room.
• Nobody else can see your data. It's protected so that only you and your connections can read it.

Sign-in

You can sign in with Google or with an email and password. We use your sign-in only to identify your account and keep your data yours.

Your choices

• Change your status, working hours, picture or busy times whenever you like.
• Disconnect your Google Calendar from the map page at any time.
• If you'd like your account and its data removed, contact the LINK UP! team and we'll delete it.
